Creators Ali Fatourechi and Davis Church have embarked on a major new passion project and the result of their hard work has birthed Adaptation. Inspired by what they see on the streets of Los Angeles every day, an offhanded mixture of surf, skate, punk, two-tone ska, and hip-hop.
Yet Adaptation is not a streetwear brand but it certainly influences their designs. Every inch of the collection is conceived, designed, and manufactured in the city of Los Angeles.
The Fall 16 collection line up is comprised of three cuts of denim: one high-waisted, cropped skinny; a straight-leg crop; and a high-waisted, button-fly straight crop. The Pieces like cargo tuxedo pants strike on a winning ratio of edge to polish . . . though you’d be foolish to overlook “basics” that are, in fact, some of the dark horse stars of the collection.
The basics of the collection offers up an overdyed, wash-processed tees from an undisclosed vintage goldmine. Bearing yet another fan favorite with a simple, punchy phrase: “Welcome to California—Now Leave.”
